HIKING

There are many amazing hiking trails nearby. If you hike directly from the property, please make sure to read the instructions under "GUESTS". Here are some Big Sur classics as well:

- McWay Waterfall Trail (.64 miles)

This is a well maintained hike that quickly takes you to the must-see falls viewing area. A few steps beyond is a bench with more coastal views. Located in Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park, well marked and easy to spot off Highway 1.

Ewoldsen Trail (4.5 miles)
Located right across the parking lot from the Waterfall Trail above. Another must see.
A moderate to strenuous 4.6 mile roundtrip, this trail has it all from huge Redwood groves and rocky streams to ocean vistas. The trail starts off easy, and is worth even a quick look.

Pfeiffer Falls / Valley View Trails (2 miles)
This is one of Big Sur's most popular trail. A perfect, though slightly challenging hike, walk among the giant redwoods and visit a rocky waterfall. Those looking for a bit more of a workout can hike up through the picturesque oak trees to the overlook bench.

HOT SPRINGS @ ESALEN INSTITUTE

Esalen is a place of stunning beauty, an awe-inspiring respite for mind and body. Treat yourself to a famous Esalen-style massage, followed by a soak in their natural hotsprings. The hotsprings can also be booked separately during off hours. Call for more details.
